Winter: Hunker Down

winter home
Have a peaceful holiday season by getting your home maintenance done in advance!

While you’re inside thinking about how nice it would be to live somewhere without enough water sunny, check your seals to see if you can feel the cold air coming through. If you can, it’s time to revisit your weatherproofing tasks! Remember to keep your thermostat above 50 degrees throughout the winter, especially if you’re going out of town. Frozen pipes are no joke, and the best way to avoid a pipe disaster is to make sure your furnace maintains a temp that’s high enough to keep the water in its liquid form.

While your heater is on, check all of your heat sources (vents, radiators… whatever you have) to make sure every location is functioning properly.
